A newly published book explores the personal and professional journey of Diar Consult principal Samir Serope Daoud, from his childhood in 1960s Baghdad through the twists and turns of the Middle East’s recent history.

Building the Man, Building the Nation tells the story of how as a young man, Samir Serope Daoud’s path was set when he met a group of American Jesuits who had built a college by the banks of the Tigris where he was educated, and examines how the evil of Man and Politics would ultimately force them to abandon their hopes for Iraq and its future, and propel them to seek survival in what would become Iraq’s greatest diaspora.
