An Inspirational Visit
13 December 2018
One of the most influential Iraqi architects of the 20th century and an icon of Modern Architecture of Iraq and the Arab World, Rifat Chadirji and his wife Balqis, hosted Sheila & Samir Daoud at their London home. Rifat and Samir reminisced about the good old days, sharing memories of Baghdad, remembering common friends and notable architects who had worked at Chadirji’s firm, IRAQ CONSULT. They also discussed DIAR CONSULT’s architectural journey over the past 30 years and it’s contribution to the impressive transformation of the UAE and the broader region.
Aged 92, this legendary Architect, Rifat, and his wife Balqis gave generously of their time to all present including Rifat’s brother Nasser, Nasser’s son Kamil, also an Architect, and Dr. Nabil Safwat, a prominent art historian and painter.
